Bay Area Travel Pros

Tuesday
We arrived at the airport just in time but had no idea we had to get a fully searched bc mommy didn't want her meds to go through the x-ray machine. Saya too had to get searched since she had to stay with mommy. But all went well and we were on our way to OAK. Saya was fabulous on our flight. The harness was still a no go but still overall a good flight. Thank goodness for the Innotab and the laptop. Must say the complimentary drinks with lids and straws did help a bunch too. We arrived a bit early so mommy stopped at Starbucks for a quick fix and headed to baggage claim. Uncle was there to pick us up and got the car in front and loaded us all up. He had a client in the afternoon in SF so Saya and mommy were on their own. We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from our flight when we got to auntie and uncle's house and some snacks. Saya didn't really feel much like eating but enjoyed tv. We played outside for a bit and then decided to take a walk down to Solano Ave for a little stroll. It was freezing out and quite windy. We stopped at the toy store and played a bunch before heading back home. Thank goodness for the stroller as Saya f ell asleep in it. We got home and she was still tired so I warmed her up in uncle and auntie's bed while watching tv. Soon Saya fell asleep and woke up just in time for dinner. She woke up quite sweaty so after dinner mommy gave Saya a shower. After that we pretty much called it a night and started the bedtime routine.

Wednesday
Auntie had to go into work on Wednesday so uncle hung out with Saya and mommy. We had a banana pancake breakfast that uncle made and then a berry smoothie for Saya afterwards. Saya and Uncle dropped off auntie at the Bart station and then when they got back Saya was fast asleep in the car. She was still sleeping but soon woke up as we transferred her back into the house. We got snacks and drinks ready for our trip and headed to the Albany Library but it was closed until noon so we tried the Berkeley one and that too was closed. So we decided to head to the Horticultural nursery instead. Saya was so tired she didn't really stop to smell the roses but almost started to pick the grapefruit and oranges off the little trees. She loved the fish pond and hung out for a bit. Uncle got a pot for an orchid plant and mommy and Saya went into the green house to look at all the indoor plants. We saw lots of orchids and Venus fly trappers. Then we decided it was time to head over to lunch but not before stopping at the bakery. We then went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had noodles and the headed home. Saya and mommy hung out at home and attempted to take a nap while uncle headed out for some errands and Costco for dinner. Saya finally took a nap and woke up with a soppy wet hair. She was all sweaty. We dried her hair and then had some chicken and asparagus for dinner. After dinner we decided to have some French Vanilla ice cream with some frozen blueberries. A super hit with Saya. Soon after auntie got home from work and we all hung out and watched incredibles till bedtime.

Thursday

On Thursday auntie took the day off so we decided to do something fun. Saya got to go to Studio Grow in Berkeley. She was somewhat tired by the time we got there but suddenly perked up when she got to play. Saya got to paint, dance, play and then play some more and didn't really want to leave but it was getting close to lunchtime so we decided it was time to leave. We paid a bit too much for admission so now there are 2 more ops to go to Studio Grow. We decided to stop at Tokyo Fish for bento box lunch. Saya was so excited she walked around the store as if she owned the place. We went home and had lunch and soon after we decided to head to REI. Saya got a new beanie and a pair of boots from auntie. It was a good trip. As soon as we got back Saya wanted to walke Nori so Shiho and Nori went out for a walk around the neighborhood. Saya is now a pro giving Nori treats. For dinner we had chicken stir fry and then called it a night. We had ice cream for dessert and thendid our bedtime routine. Uncle and auntie headed out to the airport to pick up daddy late atnight aoround 10pm.

Friday
Mommy and daddy got ready to head to Sacramento for their appt. Saya was such a great girl she had no complaints. We had breakfast and then we all got dressed and showered before starting our day. Shiho, Alex and Saya headed over to the Oakland zoo with friends Elena and Ethan. Sounded like a wonderful time- wish we could have seen the kiddos play. Saya was beat by the time they got home and fell asleep but soon woke up as the car pulled up to the house. Mommy and daddy drove uncle's Audi to Sacramento. Fearful that we would be late we left the house a  bit early and even got some gas and coffee before arriving at the appt 20 minutes early. After the appt mommy and daddy got to enjoy a quiet lunch together at Dos Coyotes. We got back into the Audi and got home around 12 thirty to meet up with everyone. Saya was tired but didn't want to nap so daddy insisted on taking the kiddo for a walk in the stroller. She still didn't take a nap so we decided to head to Kirala take out for bento boxes for dinner. We had ice cream with granola after dinner. We got home and had dinner and called it a night. Auntie Shiho was nice enough to give Saya a shower. We decided to watch Yo Gabba Gabba with auntie and uncle.

Saturday
On Saturday we decided to have an easy day and head into Alameda. We had breakfast and then got ready to head over to Alameda when uncle got back from running the dogs. Saya hung out with Auntie in the backyard feeding the fish and running up and down the hill and rocking in the rocking chair. We then got into the car and headed into Alameda and though our original plan was to eat Japanese food we ended up wanting dim sum and stopped at East Ocean for dim sum. Saya was dead td tired on the way over and didn't quite wake up so we waited in the car. Soon she woke up but not really awake we walked into the restaurant. Still fussy she finally sat down in the high chair and ordered a bunch of dishes.  sshe woek up and ate when we were almost done and ready to leave. We got up and headed to Tuckers Ice cream. Saya had no idea where we were going but when auntie asked her where we were going she said "we already passed it". We actually did pass it and then asked Saya how did you know and she said "ice cream". Not sure how she remembered but everyone was so shocked she knew. We got her a special cone with strawberry ice crea topped with sprinkles. Mommy had ube, uncle had young coconut and auntie ad GS cookie thin mint flavor. yummy! Saya had a good time and good spirits and as we walked back to the car we were hoping she would fall asleep but instead stayed up the entire time. So we decided to stop at Tokyo Fish to pick up some Goma Shio and snacks for our flight tomorrow. Then we stopped at REI to check out the garage sale. Nothing all that interesting at the garage sale so we headed over to Costco. We picked up some steaks and potatoes for dinner among other things and then headed home. Saya was so tired she was completely exhausted that she said it herself and skipped dinner and went striaght to milk and bedtime routine. Mommy and daddy started packing for our trip back home.

Sunday
We woke up and had a light pancake breakfast. This time mommy's pancakes didn't come out rock solid. We finished eating and watched TV while we packed up some more and took showers and what not. We got ready and loaded up the car before heading over to lunch at the Vietnamese restaurant. Saya had a blast eating her noodles Pho. After eating we decided to head over to the See's store to get some candy for our trip back. Saya got 2 butterscotch candies and a marshmellow chocolate easter egg. We then got dropped off at the airport and went through security and finally at the gate. Thinking it would be too late for dinner we got a pizza for our flight and on our drive home. Hope to make it home in time for a bedtime routine. Thank you to Shiho and Alex who put up with us for 6 days. We'll be back soon.

What? Southwest airlines lost our carseat and had to give us a loaner. The night just got longer.
