Exhausted but Refusing to Nap

Look at the smile she gives me when she doesn't want to go down for a nap. It just melts my heart. Do you like her hairdo?

Playdate

Today we met up with Adriana/Elia and Debbie/Katie for a playdate at Adriana's house. We all had a great time.

Vent and Nuby

We are trying really hard to get Saya to drink water as the temps have soared here in Colorado. The Eco Vessel spout was too hard, the Munchkin was not that great so now onto the Nuby. It's our 3rd sippy cup and it finally worked. Thank goodness! Here's Saya with her sippy cup playing on the vent. I try to detour her from the vent but this time I let her.

Homemade Shape Sorter

We've been meaning to get Saya a shape sorter but haven't yet so we made one out of a cardboard box for Saya. Doesn't she look little compared to the box? She doesn't really get the whole concept of the shape sorter but I know she'll catch on soon.

Need to Fan

It's been quite hot here in Broomfield the last couple of days. Saya enjoys her uchiwa fan. She doesn't really know how to use it yet but enjoys playing with it and loves it when mommy fans her.

Eco Vessel

Saya got a fancy new sippy cup that mommy found on the internet. It may work for her later on when she is able to use a hard sipper but for now a softer sipper is necessary. Darn it! Mommy needs to take a class in sippy cup 101.  But she still looks cute with it:)

Playdates

Saya has been playing with other babies the last couple of weeks. She's doing really well and is quite gentle.
I should have posted the day of but completely forgot.

Here she is with Katie and Ellie whom we met at our support group. Katie pulled Ellie's hair but nothing major.

All babies love the musical activity table.

All three babies enjoying a box full of golf balls. Saya just kept sucking on all of them. Gross!

Saya and Oz got along great at the support group. They share the same birthday so they're special buds.

More playtime with Riley.

Another Tooth!

Saya has another tooth coming in on her top gums. I saw some blood on her cracker when she was eating at the mall and I got a bit scared. I tried to look in her mouth but she wouldn't let me. When we got home I stuck my finger in her mouth and felt the ridges of the new tooth. No picture yet as it's barely in but I'm sure the tooth will be fully in in no time.

Saya and Bella Best Friends

Saya and Bella seem to be getting along great these days. Bella just goes up to Saya and starts licking her face and hands. Saya just loves her company. Ryder on the otherhand seems to just want to be left alone. We would have thought the reverse.

1st Father's Day

Today was Jeff's first father's day. He started off early this morning with a hike in the mountains and then we had a small bbq to celebrate.

We couldn't get a nice gift this year but we made a footprint art piece just for daddy. It didn't come out very good as Saya would not stop moving.

Veggie Update

An update on the 2010 veggies... The apples are all cozy in their bags. See my previous post about growing apples the organic way. They still have some hail damage from the big storm earlier in the year, and let's just hope the moths didn't get a chance to ruin them.

The Kabochas are also doing quite well. Much better than last year, so there actually might be some worth cooking. And Bella's butt.

Saya's 1st Trip to the Mountains

Today we took a short trip to Evergreen, a small mountain town. Unfortunately, the city was celebrating their annual parade. They blocked off the main road to downtown so we couldn't make it to our destination. Instead we went to the neighboring city called Kittredge and hung out in the open space park called Mount Falcon. Saya didn't seem to mind and it was actually nice.
Saya and daddy at the picnic table. Our stroller in the back actually made it on the trails.

Saya and daddy on the rocks.

9 Month Wellness Check

Saya had her 9 month check up today. She also got her 3rd HiB shot which she didn't like. The doc was pleased with her growth and development and said she was on target.

Height 29 inches
Weight 18.2 lbs

Now if only she would sleep through the night.

Saya and her Walker

I thought she was a bit too young to be walking yet but here she is thrilled with the walker. She pulls the walker along and walks by herself.

She's also pulling herself up on pretty much anything. Here she is on the fireplace.

Gift from the Chins

Saya got her own personalized plate. Too cute! I can't wait to start using it. Thank you Chin family!

Walker for Saya

A great gift from the Hiragas. Saya loves her new walker and can't wait to ride it and push it along the floor.

Saya's Finalization Party

Today was Saya's finalization party. We had to celebrate with friends and family since Saya is now officially ours. We catered in some ribs, brisket and some chicken from Famous Dave's along with some cole slaw and corn bread. We had those who helped us while we were in Japan getting Saya come over for a nice bbq lunch. Saya had a great time as she has never been surrounded by so many people. I think she will sleep really well tonight.

Saya Pulling Up

The time has come and Saya is now pulling up on her crib. Last night while I was in the process of putting her to sleep she got up and started to pull herself up using the railings on the crib. We're so proud of her but sad that she is growing up so fast.

Dinner at Home

After eating out constantly, it was time to cook at home. Jeff made some chicken and snap pea stir fry with some miso soup and rice.

Denver Zoo

We so wanted to take Saya to the zoo with the parents. Grandpa couldn't make it but we all headed out and beat the rain to see some animals. Saya felll asleep 10 minutes into the stroller ride but at least she got a peek of the elephants.

More Gifts from the Gardners

The Gardners were so kind and sent us more gifts for Saya's finalization. They got Saya her vintage Minnie Mouse from Walt Disney World.

Saya with the Inouyes

Saya finally met her grandpa and auntie Shiho for the very first time. Saya had a blast with them and hopefully they will be able to see them again soon.
