On Wednesday morning the Dr. Huynh came in to break my water but it still didn't start anything. For some reason after my epidural the contractions lessened and even stopped. So then we started pitosin in smaller quantities to get full dialation and the head lower. Around 10:30am the nurse checked me and found that it was time to start pushing. The nurse called the doc and she had to pump so we waited about 15 minutes to start pushing again. Around 10:50am we started pushing again and baby Reia arrived around 11:07am. She checked out ok with Apagar scores of 8 and 9. However her sugar was at 24 and should be above 45. She was given formula to bring up sugars and lots of heel pricks to make sure it was going up. She was taken to the NICU to get a blood draw. With lots of formula and heel pricks she was starting to stabilize. We had a lot of crying in the evening and night time. so the nursery helped us get about a couple hours of sleep. In the morning sugars stabilized so no more heel pricking.
