Airport and Play

Today we got up in the morning as usual but we ran out of the house to take baba to the airport. We got there 2 hours prior to her flight as requested. We got her checked in and ready to head to security and Saya pulled her carry on all the way from the parking lot to security. She had a blast. Baba went through security as we watched her from a level above. We waved good bye and hopefully she will visit again soon. We got home and headed to the playground while taking the dogs for a walk. It was a scorcher today so we didn't stay for very long although Saya met a friend and wanted to play more. We got home and ate lunch and read some books before naptime. Saya was ready to nap early in the morning on the way to the airport with baba so she must have been tired. After nap we played with the sand table and then daddy got home just in time to watch Saya while mommy made dinner. We had a great dinner and our bedtime routine begins.

Apple Orchard and Pasta

Today we headed to Ya-Ya Farms in Longmont to pick apples. Unfortunately they didn't allow picking for those without an appt or reservation. We found out quickly that they only had a few apples left to pick and didn't really focus on that part. We fed horses and donkeys carrots and then peeked at chickens and chicks. We then got on a hayride and ate a apple cider donut. We looked around the orchard a bit more but there were no more apples on the trees but those eaten by bugs. We hope to book a picking trip for next year when the crop is better. Saya had a great time though. Once we got home we had lunch and Saya went down for a nap. Baba and mommy went grocery shopping and got home to start dinner. We had a nice pasta dinner outside on the deck and then enjoyed a fire while drinking hot chocolate. Saya loved the hot chocolate and could have drank a second cup. We got all cleaned up and ready for bed and Saya decided to play dress up and pulled out all her accessories. She got out headbands as well as baba's shower cap. Quite a sight and a fun night.

Tomorrow we're off to take baba to the airport.

Okay we had no idea that horses can be so big. One exhaled on Saya and she was shocked.

Elk and Stanley with a Little Gold

Today we all headed up to Estes Park to see some elk and hopefully hear some bugling. We got out of the house around 9am then headed to the mountains surely we see a herd of elk sitting in the middle of the golf course. We looked but didn't stop to see them as we thought the park had more. We went into the park and tried 2 meadows but still no elk. We got to the 3rd one and sure enough we see a herd but at a distance. We then had a lunch picnic and then headed to a higher area for scenic view. We saw more elk there at a distance and actually heard the bugling and headed back down. On the way to and back we saw a lot of Aspen trees changing colors and they were glowing gold. They were so pretty we had to stop and take pictures. We then decided to stop at the Stanley Hotel. Thinking we would be able to walk the ground and inside the hotel we parked the car and walked around but there wasn't much to see. But we got a chance to walk around instead of sitting in the car so it was a great break. Saya loved the waterfall and we made a few wishes by throwing in pennies. Hope our wishes come true! Then we headed home and got dinner ready for our tired and hungry little girl and started our bedtime routine. Great but long day.
