Today we had a great morning. Mommy woke up with Saya and we went downstairs to watch some videos and play with the dogs. Saya was all happy and wanted to open her presents but we waited till daddy and grandparents came. Such restraint on Saya's part- couldn't be more proud. We then had a pancake breakfast and then headed out to pick up Saya's balloons at Party City. We got back and then started prepping for the party. We put everything we needed to lug to the gym in one spot. Baba started making CA rolls while we all tried to get Saya to lay down and nap a bit. Grandpa went out to buy lunch and run errands and mommy made cupcakes. Daddy grilled the chicken later in the morning. Finally everything was starting to come together and we were ready to head out the door. Saya was exhausted so we hoped she would nap a bit in the car, which she did. We got to the gym and started unloading and decorating as fast as we could. There were two girls that were going to teach the kids gymnastics but it was more like free play. Saya got a private session for a bit before all her friends arrived. Soon all the kids started to show up and we had about 11 all together. Never thought everyone that we invited would actually come but it was great! So happy for Saya. The kids and parents played in different areas of the gym and then we did the parachute which was enoromous. I have never seen one that big before. Everyone sang happy birthday to Saya under the parachute and then the kids got to jump on top of it. Super fun- thinking that was the best part. Then the kids got stamps and then headed to wash their hands and eat some cupcakes and snacks. The kids sat down and then had cupcakes and chicken, CA rolls and kari kari Chex. The kids seemed to enjoy it and soon it was time for the pinata. Saya was all into it and wanted to do it so badly. So we headed outside (for some reason they don't allow pinatas in or around the gym area so we cautiously went to the back of the building) and then let the kids hit the pinata with the bat. After a round the pinata was not breaking so Jeff cut it open a bit and then the older kids got it to open up a bit more. Tons of candy fell out and the kids just had a great time picking up the candy. Saya wanted to eat one so badly but we told her after dinner. The kids then got their stuff and then we cleaned up and left. Saya seemed to have a great time. We then headed off to Pho for dinner. Saya was asleep on the car ride over but then woke up just in time when the pho arrived at the table. We ate and then daddy got a boba (taro) and headed home. Saya got to open all her presents at home and then she went upstairs wtih daddy for a bath. After bath we watched Wonderpets and then called it a night.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAYA! So hoping you had a great birthday!

Daddy's Lunch, POM, King Soopers & Model
On Friday we decided to take it easy since we had a long exciting night with grandparents arriving. So we decided to eat breakfast and then take daddy a lunch since he didn't have any leftovers to bring. So we made him a chicken salad sandwich and brought it to his work. We then decided to go to POM to get some soy sauce and furikake for Saya's birthday party snacks. Saya was all happy since she got to choose a Yan Yan to eat in the car. We then headed to King Soopers to get some crab meat and then off to the model home so that baba can see a multi million dollar home in Colorado. Saya was all excited to show baba the house. Then we got home and had some lunch. We tried multiple times to take a= nap but it just wasnt' happening so we made Kari Kari Chex Mix. We also watered the vegetable garden and Saya and Ryder splashed in the water and got all wet. Still no nap so by the time grandma and grandpa arrived Saya was all tired. We all had potstickers for dinner and then our friend Kirk stopped by to haul up the mattress upstairs. After grandparents and Kirk left, the Hiragas came by to drop off Saya's present. Whew! A long night of visitors. Saya couldn't sleep and wanted to open all her presents. We told her she could open some in the morning.
