Birthday Party and Visitors

On Sunday we got up and got ready to go to Saya's friend's birthday party. We got there just in time and Saya had a blast playing. We had cupcakes and we headed home after a queue of a really dirty diaper. We stopped at Whole Foods to buy some groceries. We got home and started to clean for our guests coming in the evening. The Yonemitsus came by around 6 thirty and Saya had a second dinner by that time. The kids all got settled in and Saya and Jillian watched Tangled before bedtime. It was a long day but we got some rest before we head to the pumpkin patch on Monday.

Cereal and milk for breakfast with strawberry yogurt. Saya said "this is better than chocolate" when we asked her about the yogurt.

Japanese School

Saya was adamant about not going into her classroom at Japanese school today. We are thinking she is intimidated about only speaking in Japanese. She so wanted to go home and screamed and kicked for the first hour or so and then was happier to go inside the classroom and watch from the corner. Once craft time started, she was eager to sit down at the table and make trees with all the other kids. We finished our crafts and then it was time for snacks and she was just fine. Soon afterwards, she was ready to go home and acted as if nothing had happened and had a great time. Hum... Next week we'll try it again.

Just found out our friends will be visiting tomorrow. Time to clean again.

Gymnastics Fun

On Friday Saya and mommy headed to the gym for some gymnastics. We had bars in our obstacle course and Saya loved it. She was trying so hard to get the coach to stop talking and to watch her do the bars, hilarious! We also did the parachute and she got to play with colored balls which she loved. We then got in the changing area and the kids played while Carrie helped mommy with her knitting. Saya kept her friend from going out the doors and pointed out the coach on the wall of pictures. Hilarious! Saya also tried to keepe her friend away from the vending machines because mommy tells her that soda has caffeine in it and it's not for kids. Just too much fun! We then headed upstairs for some play area fun. There were a ton of kids running around and mommy was not extremely sure how to proceed but we went in anyways. Saya promised to play and she did. She went up to the slide all by herself and then came back down 2 times. She was so scared of the slide and mommy had to go down with her but she did it all on her own this time. Super proud! We got home and she wanted a bath first so we did that and then had lunch. We read books and then off to nap. When daddy got home we all had dinner and then headed outside to pick leaves for Japanese school crafts and then enjoyed a fire outside with some hot cocoa. Mommy threw out the marshmellows so it's time for new ones- it's a promise, must follow through.

Playground Fun ~ Painting ~ Car Seat Fitting

This morning Saya woke up just when auntie and uncle were packing up to head home. We all got up and had some oatmeal and said our good-byes. Auntie forgot her sunglasses so we got to say our 2nd good-byes. Then Saya and mommy did a bit of painting before heading out to the playground with the doggies. Saya met a couple of friends there and asked about them when we got home. She had a good time but passed out on the walk back home. We ate a light lunch and then headed to the Broomfield Car Seat Safety location to get Saya properly fit into her carseat. Luckily, Saya complaining about her buckle and lap belt hurting her was not a problem. She is tightly snug as a bug in a rug now in her carseat and she was not happy but at least we know she's safe. We got home and attempted to nap but it was unsuccessful so we played some more till 3 thirty and then we tried again. By 4pm Saya finally fell asleep and napped for 30 minutes before daddy got home. We had our dinner and then the start of our bedtime routine. It was a long but good day.
