Sick Day 2

Thursday was a snow day so we stayed in as well. Saya was still getting over her bug so it was best to take it easy. Her fever was gone so we were relieved- our pediatrician said it may take 3-5 days. She seems to be feeling somewhat better but still wanted to be held and rocked to sleep. The previous night was rough as mommy was up all night with Saya but still hardly any naps during the day. She is still not drinking much fluids so we are still trying to get her to drink water as much as possible.

Saya playing with her remote control.

Her Dinosaur Stomp book that she has ripped many times.

Slinky.

Playing the piano with nothing but a smile.

Snake

Saya loves the dog bed. We think it's a bit gross and dirty but hey if she likes it why not.

It's snowing. Hoping daddy will make it home ok in the Civic.

I just love seeing Saya look out the window and Bella right next to her. They are really good buds.

Nothing better than Purely O's and milk for a snack.

Mittens and gloves. Saya says "mi" for mittens.

It's Miss Spider.

Sick Day

On Wednesday it was still cold and Saya was trying to fight her cold with a 103 fever. Since Tuesday afternoon we've been giving her acetomeniphen to bring down her fever but after 3-4 hours the fever was back. Mommy was up with Saya all night and it was a 5am morning. Thank goodness daddy was home as everything was going wrong and Saya was just not feeling good and very uncomfortable. The luke warm baths weren't helping much either. Saya didn't want any fluids so we had to force feed her liquids, which wasn't fun either. She slept a ton and woke up feeling awful we decided to head over to the pediatrician. Of course after driving in freezing temperatures and sitting in office waiting to be seen, Saya is starting to feel better and has a fever of 100.3. Nice! Mommy and daddy jumped the gun again. But at least infections were ruled out Saya can try to beat this nasty virus. The rest of the day we took it easy and then headed off to bed hoping for a good nights sleep.

A paper towel stuck in Saya's diaper. We change her on a changing station with a paper towel as a secondary protector and it got caught as I put her onesie back on.

Saya trying to play but not feeling good.

Mommy spilt juice all over the couch so we washed the cushion covers. Saya loved playing on the cushions.

This is sort of the look but when she was feeling bad it was 10 times worse.

Back from the doc and changed into her tutu pjs. Trying to keep her cool. Saya decided to take her own temp.

Playing on the couch with the Bella.

Whatcha look'n at?

Striking a pose. Notice the runny nose.

Snake Handler and Organizer

Tuesday night Saya played with Bella and her snake toy. It's so cute how they like to play with one another. Saya then wanted to look inside the kitchen drawer so I let her take a peek. She loved playing with chopsticks and throwing them on the ground.

Soda Slurper

Saya was all interested in daddy's soda can that we let her play with it. She tried to take a sip from the can which we thought was so cute. She then follows with "ahhh". She must have gotten that from her daddy. The can was empty by the way and we didn't let her touch the top as it's super sharp.

Happy 17 Month Birthday

As of Tuesday Saya turned 17 months old. How time flies! She is getting smarter and growing everyday. I can't wait to see how much she changes in the next month. We love you Saya!

Saya's First Sentence

Today we finally discovered what Saya was trying to say. I swear it was clearer this time around or her parents are just dense. As we try to give Saya her water to bring her fever down she shakes her head "no". We sat her at the table for dinner and thankgoodness she ate but she was really picky on what she wanted. She points and says to daddy "no, no, no, that one". It was too cute for words.

She also started to say "Cheerios", and point above the fridge where we keep our cereal. We don't give her Cheerios but the natural Purely O's. Close enough.

Saya's words are starting to become more pronounced and easier to understand these days. I guess she's really starting to grow up.

Minus Degrees

It's just a bit chilly out today. A high of minus 6. Thank goodness for our heater working overtime and keeping us nice and warm. We staying in again and played indoors.

Saya enjoying her books.

Chilly Cold Day

We were supposed to head to the Consulate's office Monday morning but since the snow started early morning and it was really cold and icy out, we decided to stay home. We made some oatmeal playdough and hung out inside. Daddy worked from home too so it was really nice.

Checking out the snow out the side door window.

Oatmeal playdough. A little sticky the first time around but still lots of fun.

Saya found the musical table amusing again.

Saya in the kitchen taking down the dish towels.

Playing with Slinky and drums. She's multi-talented.

Digging in her toy box.

After destroying everything Daddy and I built, Saya is learning to stack and build. Amazing!

Scrabble

On Sunday we took it easy in the morning and hung out. We then got packed up and headed to our friend's house for a game of scrabble and Xbox. We had a great time and so did Saya.
